"We only advocate opening under the federal, state and local guidelines and phased approaches."

Today, for the second time citizens gathered in front of the Humboldt County Courthouse since the local shelter in place order and the statewide stay at home order.

One group was organized by Humboldt Conservatives' Lesa Christensen. She will be here shortly and many more will join her at noon. I will do a separate post on that group later.

Another group, Open Humboldt organized their members  to gather at 9 a.m. and they are here already with several business owners and citizens.

Several people are members of both groups.

Lot of people driving by, honking in support. All photos and video, in this post from Open Humboldt.

People gathered starting at 9 a.m. near the Courthouse and Eureka City Hall. More are showing up. So far about 30 people in front of the Courthouse and others driving in cars.

Throughout the day, people will drive in their cars with signs march around the Public Health office and Courthouse. Ryan Rice and Dena McCullough.

"We only advocate opening under the federal, state and local guidelines and phased approaches. The only issue we have is that Humboldt has already shown that we have met the 14 day guideline  and are ready to implement Phase 2," said Rice. "The only issue we have is that Humboldt and other rural counties should be in Phase 2 now,"  said Rice. "We are law abiding  citizens."

First District Supervisor Rex Bohn came out a few minutes later and talked with members of Open Humboldt

Some business owners who are essential came out to support other business owners. "We are all essential. We are here for all Americans."
