One arrested, two suspects outstanding in Fort Seward burglary



On May 22, 2020, Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 8500 block of Fort Seward Road in Fort Seward for the report of a residential burglary.

According to the victim, over the course of three days (May 20-22), three suspects were captured on surveillance footage accessing the property without permission. During this time, the three reportedly forced entry into multiple residences and shipping containers. The victim reported numerous firearms, two chainsaws and a large amount of cash missing from the property.

Upon further investigation, deputies identified one of the three subjects as 28-year-old Jordan Marty Guthart.

On May 23, 2020, deputies conducted a traffic stop and arrested Guthart on Redwood Drive near Evergreen Road in Redway. During a search of his vehicle, deputies located a burglary tool and over $26,000 in cash. Deputies then served a search warrant at a residence associated with Guthart. There, deputies located the victim’s stolen chainsaws and other personal belongings of the victim. Through additional investigation, deputies were also able to locate and retrieve several of the stolen firearms.

Guthart was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on charges of grand theft (PC 487), burglary (PC 459.5), possession of stolen property (PC 496(a)) and driving with a suspended or revoked license (VC 14601.1(a)).

The two additional suspects are still outstanding at this time.
