"These people are real people. They are not just numbers on a curve."

Janice Dean says that New York Governor Andrew Cuomo's failed nursing home policy should be "one of the biggest" stories of the year. Dean lost both of her parents-in-law to the coronavirus.

"Twenty percent of our lost loved ones are from nursing homes ... because Governor Cuomo and several other governors forced COVID-recovering patients into nursing homes."

"Officially, 5,876 residents of New York state nursing homes or assisted living facilities have died of COVID-19 as of today. However, the state health department count does not include residents who died "outside the facility," such as at a hospital."

These residents include Dean's mother-in-law who was rushed to the hospital, died in the hospital and her confirmed COVID death will not be counted as a nursing home or assisted living home [death] because of Cuomo's policy.

Her father-in-law was transferred to what she believes was a floor with COVID-19 patients days before he succumbed to the virus.

Dran's father-in-law was a New York City firefighter and was in the U.S. Air Force. "These people are real people. They are not just numbers on a curve."
