"Frankly counsel, I'd like this kind of notice ahead of time. To do this last minute is disruptive."

Sentencing for convicted murderer Maxx Robison  was continued to May 28. It was continued again to June 1 because Robison wanted to be present in court. He made this request at the last minute after a brief, confidential phone call with his attorney. Livestream is muted and the attorney calls the inmate on a landline.

Judge Christopher Wilson told Robison, " You have a doctor here to testify."

Robison said he wants to be present in court.

Deputy District Attorney Roger Rees is the prosecutor for the case. Mr. Russ Clanton is Robison's attorney.

"Frankly counsel, I'd like this kind of notice ahead of time," said Judge Christopher Wilson. "To do this last minute is disruptive."

"I don't want to hear anymore," Judge Wilson said to Mr. Clanton. Judge Wilson said for a live appearance in court during the coronavirus related closure, several people have to be informed and had he known of Robison's request in advance, he could have made arrangements.

Judge Wilson tried to schedule the sentencing this Friday but Mr. Clanton was not available. Usually, three days notice is required to accomodate such a request.

A defense expert, Dr. Martin Williams will assist with sentencing. He has provided a report.

In addition to the defense expert, one of the victims and the family of the other victim were watching via You Tube. They have provided letters that Mr. Rees will read into the record. They do not wish to address the Court.

On March 12, Robison pleaded guilty to the murder of Rhianna McKenzie and attempted murder of Elisha Mansell. Plea details and court minutes are covered in the links below.
