Threatened me, would tell the homeless he would beat them, now this junkie is 86ed

This is Gary.  Heavy set guy, mustache and tattoos who used to hang out in the alley, at the corner near 5th and N.

Just learned his name today. The first time I saw him was when EPD responded to a call near my apartment. Someone had been slumped over for hours and was not responding. I asked them to do a check. This is the same alley where the woman was assaulted last November and eventually passed away.

I suspected he was dealing drugs.  Once EPD left, Gary informed me he "hangs out" in the same area but he just "carves". This is on private property. I talked with him about junkies, noise, disturbance, smoke.

You think that would have deterred him. He didn't. That area has been a magnet for junkies. No one in that area does anything about it. I think in the past 7 months, I have done more to clean up this neighborhood than the property owners.

He came back that night and he wasn't relaxing. He was pissed I told him to leave private property and caught him red handed. At first, he said, he was security. Confronted with his lie and the people he was with, he ran off and said he "would see me outside". Then he threatened me, again, at the gas station and I just walked off. He was pissed he couldn't intimidate me but he didn't come near me. After that, he would just stalk me and follow me. On May 19, he took my picture and I did the same.

Most druggies in this neighborhood don't come back. I don't always call EPD. There are some stubborn ones. He would threaten to beat up the other homeless. Turns out Gary threatened the security guard at the gas station. He was 86ed.  My hunch about him was right, he was dealing drugs. He has a large knife that he likes to display.

  1. HA HA. The old "I am security" excuse is popular. A man tried to pull that on me at my own HOME.
