The peace in the alley lasted a day. I almost got a photo of him injecting. However, I was busy working on something else. It is not my job to monitor the junkies every day.
I asked him what he was doing? He told me and kept injecting himself and said, "I will leave when I am done." He wasn't even fazed that EPD would be called.
Same thing hours later.
At what point is the City of Eureka going to cut off access to this alley and protect the public? I have filed a complaint form with Code Enforcement. EPD and POP has been aware of this alley and a neigjboring property but POP has hundreds of complaints.
POP is not the solution. Having competent leadership and a City Council that values businesses and citizens is the change needed.
This is a direct result of the inept Eureka City Council and the California Department of Health and Governor Gavin Newsom's enabling of addicts and criminals. These ongoing issues are made worse by not allowing prisons to accept inmates from local jails.
There is already one person who is fed up. Eric Jackson has stated on Facebook that he has hired a lawyer for a potential lawsuit about a house on Harris. One should not have to resort to legal action to get elected officials to listen.
