I don't want to move back East but I do miss the food. Pizza, bagels, pretzels, hot dogs, cheesesteak and and the best seafood from Philly to Maine. Specific places in Philly and Boston that would be worth the trip just for a few hours.
Only someone from the East Coast would know the subtle difference between New York style and Jersey Pizza. I do like Paul's but my number one choice if I want authentic East Coast pizza in Humboldt is Dutchy's in Arcata.
Located on 1116 11th Street and owned by two guys originally from Jersey, it is the place in to grab a slice, wings and a drink while watching sports. I got to chat with one of the owners yesterday and he is the nicest guy. Had only good things to say about Paul's and other businesses in Humboldt. This is someone invested and who really likes the community he now calls home.
Dutchy's gets their dough baked fresh from a local bakery and no longer ships Amoroso rolls. I tried the pizza but the rolls still need to be tested. Perhaps at a future visit.
