Around 1:25, I saw this man was walking in the middle of 3rd Street (coming from the direction of 3rd and T) with a woman screaming at him walking in the middle of the road coming from the direction of 3rd and V screaming at him.
Now an older woman is screaming, from a home in Recetki park. "Get out of my house. Don't come near my daughter."
After disturbing the neighborhood, the woman is sitting in the eyesore she calls her house that looks like a junkyard. City of Eureka Code Enforcement already visited her house two weeks ago.
EPD responded with one car. Now three cars. Constant trash talk and drama from the same houses in Recetki Park, the mobile home park on 1941 3rd Street.
1:36 EPD left.
I followed up with EPD Crime Analyst Brittany Powell. "A passing officer reported being out with a disturbance at this location. Two additional units stopped by but ultimately the contact was cleared, no report. "
That mobile home park and particular houses are a constant issue with EPD being called by nearby businesses and other residents. There are certain houses that have cars coming and going all day and night and people go into a particular house. I see EPD at this location regularly.
I have called EPD when I have walked by witnessing animals and birds in cages being put in trunks of cars and suspicious activity. Two of the cars constantly parked on this street left today. I am sure they will be back in a few hours.
They have been parked for weeks. Yelling, screaming and fighting. Same cars taking up most of the parking near 3rd and T walking in and out of the same damn house in that mobile home park.
Can't walk to Target on 3rd Street or anywhere near the area to businesses and do errands without constantly getting hassled and panhandled smelling urine and cat piss and broken down RVs taking up half the lane with junk spilling on the sidewalk.
The woman screaming about the young man had roosters and other fowl at her house couple of weeks back. Her zoo constantly making noise and running out on the street. See the photo with the empty orange and black shed . I called EPD. Others called EPD. City of Eureka Code Enforcement came out and told them to get rid of the roosters in 10 days or they would be removed.
This park is typical of many Humboldt property owners. Does nothing about problem tenants, drains EPD time and resources better used to respond to other calls. Abandoned, decreipt cars with people smoking all day parked along 3rd Street where there are hotels, businesses and residences who have to put up with trash and the Humboldt Jerry Springer crowd. Weary PG & E workers and tourists trying to sleep while bums scream all night.
According to Assessor Records, this mobile home park is owned and managed by Resident Owned Parks Inc., 7420 Greenhaven Drive #125 in Sacramento.
Had someone been run over in the street, who would be responsible?
A 24/7 fast food drive thru in the parking lot of Target will just make these issues worse. Screaming bums, cat piss and sleepless nights can be on the next marketing brochure by Eddy Alexander for the City of Eureka.
City of Eureka and County has no guts or any leadership. They need to fine property owners who cannot maintain a safe and quiet property and cause hardship to others. Of course, the Humboldt lobby of generational slumlords, cheap property owners and real estate agents who profit from selling these shitty properties would threaten to sue. Then, there should be a counter lawsuit. Does not matter if no Humboldt lawyer will take it on; money can get other California lawyers.
Granted, the City and County would be too busy doing enforcement because this is the case all over Eureka. How many of these abandoned cars and transients from Arcata, Crescent City, Southern Humboldt? Eureka is not the dumping ground for the rest of the County unless other cities and unincorporated areas want to pay Eureka.
There are people don't even mow their lawns, clean their yards or make a basic effort to keep their house or storefront clean. Some of these people have a lot of money. The unkempt beards and sloppy clothes for people with hundreds of thousands in their bank accounts.
