Connor Whited finally sentenced today for the Opera Alley homicide. 15 years to life with 1200 days in custody credits.; special allegation stricken.
The morning EPD was collecting evidence, I was the only one to cover it live. After years of continuances and being sent to the State Hospital and back, Whited's case resolved. Deputy District Attorney Luke Bernthal is the prosecutor.
Once former Deputy Conflict Counsel April Van Dyke was no longer his attorney, the plea was fait accompli. Mr. Joe Judge is Whited's attorney.
Sentencing was continued from 1/27 to this morning by stipulation to allow Judge Kelly Neel to preside over the hearing.
