On January 1, I reported that 25 year old Brian Lee Garrett was arrested by Eureka Police Department for PC 597(a) animal abuse/cruelty and PC 597(b) cockfighting.
EPD Crime Analyst Brittany Powell told me "Garrett was arrested for animal cruelty. He was the suspect in a theft from a gas station and during the course of the investigation it was determined he had been abusing a puppy. A witness purchased the puppy from Garrett for its safety and notified police. The puppy is now under veterinary care."
