Alleged rapist Darius Upshaw entered a limited time waiver today since his attorney, Mr. Russ Clanton, is currently in trial. Defense filed a motion to continue.
Deputy District Attorney Whitney Timm appeared on the case today for Deputy DA Carolyn Schaffer. The People submitted on good cause but objected on behalf of the alleged victims.
Upshaw's case in on for trial assignment on April 30; jury trial on May 3. Long form questionnaires are due April 19. As most inmates, Upshaw looks nothing like his booking photo. He has shaved his head and facial hair.
The Michael Flowers trial is estimated to end on April 9, according to Mr. Clanton. Opening statements started this morning in that trial which had several delays and dark days.
