Judge Wilson told Richard French he would place him probation on the two cases resolved today

At pre trial this morning, Richard French resolved both his cases with an open plea. Sentencing is on April 13.

French pleaded guilty in his misdemeanor case to violating a court order. In his other case, he pleaded guilty to one count. That is Count 3, PC 245 (a) (1), assault with a deadly weapon. French will accrue credits in the felony case.

There is no Arbuckle waiver. Judge Christopher Wilson has already indicated that he is going to grant French probation. People can argue for jail/prison time. Judge Wilson said if he changes his mind, French can have his plea back.

The victims were notified and are agreeable to the plea with certain terms and conditions which include French agreeing to mental health treatment and French being prohibited to enter the victims' properties.

Deputy District Attorney Roger Rees is the prosecutor for this case. DA Maggie Fleming also appeared on the case. Deputy Public Defender Ben McLaughlin is French's attorney.
