Who profits if Sgt. Rodrigo Sanchez and Officer Mark Meftah are no longer at Eureka Police Department?

 

Since this post, Humbodt Grassroots who have done absolutely nothing have jumped on the bandwagon and are protesting outside the Courthouse at 5 p.m.

An independent investigation has not even been completed but the very people that never show up at a City Council meeting, Board of Supervisors meeting or do anything to take on the establishment and decades of corruption in Humboldt have planned a protest. 

Stop the presses! It is another protest in Humboldt. 🙄

Just like the other protests last summer, they will block traffic, pat themselves on the back, make zero impact on the issues they claim to be upset about and fade away for months.

The snitches achieved their goal of chaos and of having law enforcement baby sit idiots who reacted to a half ass article that they probably did not read through. Now on a Friday afternoon, these protestors will interrupt and disrupt life for people who work for a living, are going to medical appointments, picking up their kids and running errands.

The usual woke local media (not the TV stations but the rest) who employ zero journalists of color will be milking this opportunity instead of working on other news because it is easy content for their clueless base of readers and advertisers who prefer no real investigation to the Humboldt status quo because it benefits them. 

All those Facebook warriors and Humboldt Facebook pages pretend they inform on crime and community when all they do is post links from media and unsubstantiated, unmoderated posts from random people. They will sit behind their screens like cowards and let EPD be abused because they are all talk and think their Facebook clique and gossipy comments makes them something other than a glorified online chat room. A lot of people talk smack in Humboldt online and in private but sit quietly while those who protect  others get attacked. Ungrateful, unappreciative cowards who drag down others working to make this community a better place.

Real crime will have to wait because a bunch of people need to protest something they emotionally react to and it involves zero risk. They can vent anger at law enforcement instead of having the guts to address the people and reasons responsible for societal issues like racism and misogyny.

The story from the Sacramento Bee has made national headlines. There continue to be unanswered questions that should be considered in any independent investigation and should be researched and looked into by any reputable media who don't kow tow to the local corrupt establishment and special interests.

I said it yesterday and I still believe this "leak" is an inside job or has involvement from someone on the inside. The timing of the release of these texts, the snitch/snitches only going to certain media who will not ask pertinent questions, is very suspicious. 

Who profits if Sgt. Rodrigo Reyna-Sanchez and Officer Mark Meftah are no longer at Eureka Police Department? Who benefits if EPD is painted in a bad light? Who gains if this scandal leads to removal of more officers; possibly EPD Chief Steve Watson? Is the motivation of the person(s) behind this "leak" really about the offensive texts or an effort to deflect from their own potential scandal? Who has eyes on being the next Eureka Police Chief?

The people behind this anonymous leak have an agenda. They have been sneaky. If they had nothing to hide, then all the messages should have been sent to various media. They would use their name. Anonymous, backstabbing attacks are the trademark of dirty, corrupt, cowards aka the typical Humboldt m.o.

These snitches have maligned an entire police department and hard working, decent men and women of EPD for selfish reasons.

I have lived and been very involved in this community for 18 years. In those years, I know various people including businessmembers, elected officials, law enforcement, community members and I have local, regional, national sources and contacts. I have proven I can investigate and get scoops and exclusives other local media cannot and done it on a shoestring budget with constant challenges that would anyone else couldn't handle for a day.

The "stench" of this hit piece will be exposed, whether it is by me, an independent investigation or another outside media source. And it can only be done by a media source interested in the welfare of this community. That can only happen with proper research, talking to people without an agenda and presenting more than one biased side. 

Those behind this, you want national attention. You are getting it and with it, what else will be uncovered? Do you know who and how many people national media has contacted about this or any other article? 

I had originally included the press release from the Eureka Police Officers Association in a post yesterday. I am including it here for reasons which should be obvious by now and from the questions raised in my other post about the Sacramento Bee article. 

By the way, it is not POA because the person who wrote it says so; it is EPOA if you are going to abbreviate because this is specific to the Eureka Police Officers Association.  

I don't know if Sgt. Terry Liles is still in charge of the EPOA but why did this press release only go out to select media? Also, what is EPOA policy for sending out press releases? This came out awfully quick yesterday. The Eureka Police Chief had to respond. Why did the EPOA?

Did the person who wrote it consult all the members, run it by Chief Watson, the City of Eureka considering the issues involved? What other EPD "scandals" has the EPOA opined on and so swiftly? 

This whole EPD "text" leak reeks and is typical Humboldt. Nothing surprises me anymore because Humboldt is full of two faced people and selfish people who will do anything, destroy lives and their own city as long as it serves their selfish purpose. 

EPOA Press Release:

The March 17, 2021 Sacramento Bee article entitled “California police degraded women in texts, called COVID patient ‘outbreak monkey’” includes several statements allegedly made by Eureka Police Department employees in private conversation. The Eureka Police Officers’ Association (“POA”) encourages a fair and prompt investigation into this matter.

The alleged statements in the article reflect extremely egregious behavior. They are abhorrent, and do not reflect the character, integrity, or attitudes of the vast majority of Police Department employees. Nor do they reflect the seriousness, maturity, or professional attitude this difficult job demands.

The POA does not, and will not, condone violent, racist, sexist, or indifferent attitudes towards the community members we are sworn to protect and serve, or each other. As police officers, POA members understand that their ability to do their job depends on the support and respect of the community.

The community deserves only the best law enforcement professionals.
