Judge Neel shuts down the Humboldt Jerry Springer show in her courtroom

Judge Neel one of  my favorite Humboldt Judges. She can hear any kind of case. If you have a civil case, she is the best. Judge Neel is fair, objective, listens to both sides, follows the law and will not allow nonsense and disrespect for the court.

I have watched her preside over many civil cases and restraining orders.

I was checking on another case and ended up watching a request for a restraining order request filed by Lucas Boone against Stephen Graves. 

The full names are not confidential and listed on the court schedule. This is not a sexual assault or sensitive case. From court testimony and behavior displayed, the drama and this fight is not secret in the community. 

The guys are young. As soon as I saw other adults sitting next to the guys and family members milling about on Zoom, I knew where this was headed.

Judge Kelly Neel told Lucas, the petitioner, not to read from a paper and to tell her in his own words what happened. Before she said that, he was pausing, paying attention to the person sitting next to him and then responding.

Stuff was said over Instagram about alleged assault, the families get into it when they walk to and from their houses. The mothers, grandmothers, grandfather have made this worse by getting involved. 

Judge Neel heard from both parties. When she explained that she was denying the petition, chaos erupted with the adults wanting to speak and they did, over the Judge.

One of the adults said something to Judge Neel, hard to hear on Zoom with all the yelling.

"Then don't interrupt me," said Judge Neel.

"This is absurd. Whatever is going on between the families needs to stop. You all are adults. This is a courtroom."

Judge Kelly Neel : "Lucas lied. He was caught in a lie."

Lucas lied to Judge Neel in open court. When Steven said he had a screenshot, Lucas fessed up.
