Sheriff Honsal was what you told TS and the Daily Beast correct about Mauricio Johnson's warrant and extradition?

I reported last week that the legal unit of California Governor Newsom's office is reviewing the request for the extradition warrant for murder suspect Mauricio Johnson. That post link is provided and you can read it for details.

If the legal unit of Newsom's office told Johnson's Humboldt attorney, Ms. Andrea Sullivan, they are reviewing the request for the warrant but Sheriff Honsal says the warrant has been issued, then who is correct?

Humboldt County Sheriff Billy Honsal was quoted in a March 16 Times Standard article that Newsom had already signed the extradition warrant.

According to a March 16 article in the Times-Standard,  "Humboldt County Sheriff William Honsal told the Times-Standard the state Attorney General already granted District Attorney Maggie Fleming’s request to file a governor’s warrant."

The warrant was granted and issued to the Utah court,” Honsal wrote via email. “The Utah court will the have another hearing (on March 23) in which a judge will review the governor’s warrant and confirm the identification of Mauricio Johnson and then approve the warrant. Johnson will then be ordered to be transported back to Humboldt County. The (District Attorney) will then advise my office and I will dispatch my transport deputies to escort Mr. Johnson back to Humboldt County for his day in court.”

Now in this Daily Beast article Honsal says Mauricio is fighting extradition. "He is also fighting his extradition back to California, according to Humboldt County Sheriff William Honsal."

"According to Sheriff Honsal, California’s attorney general has issued a governor’s warrant in Utah Superior Court, requesting Johnson be sent back to Humboldt County. Sheriff Honsal said he expected Johnson to be back in custody in California within the next four weeks."
