First, it wasn't his porn; now defense says the girls just made up the alleged molestation
Trial setting for alleged molestor and former employee of a local TV station Mark Dare was continued to February 10. It was continued again to February 24. Judge Christopher Wilson asked both the People and defense to check with witnesses about availability.
Even though Dare's presence has been excused for this hearing, he was there. Just when you thought Public Defender Marek Reavis couldn't go lower, he took offense at the Court and the People referring to Dare's stepdaughters as victims because he says the girls made it up.
Must be that crankiness not being able to keep continuing this case and buying his client more time out of custody. And losing to Ms. Timm with Judge Lawrence Killoran's ruling.
Yes, they are "alleged" victims and Dare is an "alleged" molestor" until the outcome of a trial. So if Dare is innocent, why delay the trial?
It is the defense that has requested multiple continuances. Where are Dare's fervent church supporters who were in court in the beginning?Where is his wife, the mother of the girls, who stood by her man at the preliminary hearing?
These girls testified in court despite their own mother not supporting them and the Seventh Day Adventist Church members pressuring them. Why did the defense want to exclude Dare's past substance abuse and domestic violence conviction? The defense withdrew the substance abuse request, probably because that will part of the defense strategy.
There is electronic evidence. At a previous hearing, Mr. Reavis played the how do we know it is his porn card?
Dare has been out working since Mr. Reavis got his bail lowered yet his attorney fees and two expert's fees and legal expenses are bring paid by the taxpayers.
Deputy District Attorney Whitney Timm is the prosecutor on this case. Reavis is Dare's attorney. Deputy DA Roger Rees appeared for the People.
If you haven't followed the case, look up previous posts on the blog.
