DA files motion to continue Ray Christie's trial
Ray Christie's jury trial was scheduled to start September 9. The District Attorney filed a motion to continue on 9/4. Deputy DA A.J. Kamada had informed defense that he was going to file this motion.
Defense has filed an opposition. Christie is represented by Mr. John Cogorno and Mr. Ken Bareilles. Time estimate for trial is three weeks. Christie is out of custody. He entered a general time waiver. With other trials scheduled, there is no guarantee this case would start on September 9 even if there was no motion to continue.
There are two cases on calendar today. In the case for jury trial, Christie is charged with four felonies, Counts 1-4, PC 597 (b) deprive animal.of drink or shelter and tje rest are misdemeamors Counts 5-43, FG5652 (a), littering within 150 feet of water.
The other case is calendared for a pre trial conference. Christie is charged with one misdemeanor count, FG3005.5,capture, possession, confinement of game.
