In May, I was the only one in court when criminal proceedings were suspended for arson suspect Stephen Paiment. Screenshot is of that post. Today, there was a restoration hearing in his 2025 case.Paiment found competent to stand trial.
Criminal proceedings were reinstated today by Humboldt Superior Court Judge Lawrence Killoran.
Deputy DA Rebecca Buckley-Stein appeared on the case for the People. Deputy Public Defender Ryan McClurg is Paiment's attorney. Will Paiment hire a private lawyer as he yelled at the last hearing?
Preliminary hearing is on 8/25.
