" On Friday, August 21, 2026, Officers with the California Highway Patrol Humboldt Area office in conjunction with Officers from the California Highway Patrol Northern Division Investigative Services Unit, served a warrant at a residence on Highway 36, within the unincorporated town of Alton. 

The warrant was related to a reckless driving investigation. Pursuant to the warrant, three vehicles were impounded, per California Vehicle Code 14602.7(a). The impounded vehicles are believed to have been utilized during multiple reckless driving incidents. "
