Quick response by HBF to 819 Pine Street prevented further spread; cause undetermined, one individual sustained minor burn injuries


Humboldt Bay Fire Battalion Chief Nathan Baxley just sent out a press release about the fire at 819 Pine Street today.

On October 4, 2025 at approximately 6:00 pm Humboldt Bay Fire units responded to a first-alarm structure fire at 819 Pine Street in Eureka. 

Firefighters arrived to find visible smoke pushing from the windows from the first floor of a two story multi family residence. Fire units quickly extinguished the fire limiting fire spread and ensuring additional resident safety.

The fire originated in a back bedroom closet. After a thorough investigation, the cause of fire remains undetermined. 

One individual sustained minor burn injuries and was promptly transferred to the care of City Ambulance for transport to the hospital for treatment. 

Preliminary estimates place the property damage at approximately $7,500. 

Thanks to the rapid response of Humboldt Bay Fire, the fire was contained, preventing further harm or fire spread. Property Management of 819 Pine responded to the scene and the property was turned over to be secured.
