John Chiv: So far Schaffer vs Kreis in Aunna Bollman's case has the DA leading with victory in the latest 2025 criminal case, defense denial for reduction and I hope DA prevails in terminating mental health diversion in the other 11 criminal cases; Bollman already has 4 civil restraining orders

Aunna Bollman has 12 criminal cases, 3 restraining orders which have been granted and a fourth requested by City of Eureka after death threats and explicit threats by Aunna Bollman to current and former elected officials and City of Eureka staff.

The City of Eureka restraining order request was filed after Bollman was arraigned in her 12th criminal case. On 8/27, a preliminary hearing was scheduled in her 12th and latest criminal case.

The alleged victims in the latest criminal case are City of Eureka Assistant Manager and City Clerk Pam Powell, Humboldt County Deputy District Attorney Roger Rees and Donna Cotham who was Bollman's former neighbor at Serenity Inn.

Deputy District Attorney Carolyn Schaffer is the prosecutor. Mr. Gregory Kreis is Bollman's attorney.

The criminal case was listed on the Courtroom 1 calendar, then sent over to Courtroom 3. Mr. Kreis has the Jonathan Brisco preliminary hearing as well today which was scheduled in Courtroom 3.

8/27/25: I was in the courtroom for all of Bollman's criminal cases. I will add detailed notes when I have time in a separate post, particularly Judge Steven Stewards' remarks on the preliminary hearing and Mr. Kreis' request for mental health diversion because this is how every request for mental health diversion should be handled. The preliminary hearing in CR2501364 + DA's motion to terminate mental health diversion was continued to 9/4 because the investigator who was going to testify is sick. On 9/4, continued again to 9/5 because investigator still then 10/10.

8/27/25: In the civil case, Commissioner Sarah Kaber made a disclosure about Mr. Kreis who made a special appearance in the case. Bollman did not oppose the restraining order. Request granted.

10/10/25: Eureka Police Officer Jack Cole testified at Bollman's preliminary hearing. Bollman was held to answer as charged. Defense motion for PC 17 (b) reduction denied. Arraignment on information in Bollman's latest criminal case filed in 2025 is scheduled for 10/21. DA's motion to terminate health diversion & reinstate criminal proceedings in her other 11 cases continued to 10/21/25 because defense is waiting on paperwork.
