18 year old Michael Conlee's case was on for setting of preliminary hearing on October 17. Instead he entered a plea to the one count PC 288 (a) lewd act with a minor. He is now a convicted molestor. Humboldt Superior Court Judge Kaleb Cockrum gave Conlee the sexually violent predator advisement. There was a stipulation to the low term with a three year cap.
Victim Jane Doe is seven years old.
Humboldt Deputy District Attorney Carolyn Schaffer is the prosecutor on this case. Humboldt Deputy Conflict Counsel R.J. Leohner is Conlee's attorney.
Setting of sentencing and appointment of psychiatrist is scheduled for 11/18. Conlee is on a no bail status. DA will verify length of parole at time of sentencing.
