This is the new header for my blog. First, it changed from focus on Humboldt Superior Court to focus on California. Now, this is a more accurate title. 

Whether you follow me for court coverage, local news or all content, subscription is the best way to keep up. If you contact me & are ready to contribute at least $25 for a month; you can get in on the current rates this year and a more affordable rate for 6 months or a year.

This is a business with bills, expenses and hard work and value. That is where my focus is and working with people who value me, my time, my connections. You will see more positive stories highlighting Humboldt which will resonate with national readers.

I get results because my readers include people who make decisions and have the power that impacts your life. Just recently, a Humboldt elected official told me shortly after my post, there was a call from the 2nd in charge of a major national corporation asking how they could work with Humboldt. I developed that story. It does not matter where one is located for a journalist who is innovative with traditional shoe leather reporting.

I am not asking Humboldt readers and advertisers anymore. I have given a lot to this community for free over two decades at personal and financial risk. You either advertise, contribute or support me or you don't. But don't ask me for extras, one on one demands when you have not financially or personally supported me for decades. I help and have helped a lot of people whether it is courts or to market and sometimes sent them to other local media because promotion is about the right audience. My content and my time will focus on profit.

I am not an advocate or a non profit and I make a daily choice to still include Humboldt content because of the many wonderful people I know and readers like Nancy, Donna, Brenda and others. I do not need the blog to reach people or voters. It is a platform I have kept, for now. Media and how you reach people is evolving at a fast pace.
