Convicted sex offender Kevin John Murphy arrested again yesterday for PC 314.1 indecent exposure; this time by Eureka Police Department. 51 year old Murphy was arrested in May by HCSO for indecent exposure, probation violation and possession of meth.

In California, "penalties for indecent Exposure vary. A first conviction will likely result in a Misdemeanor sentence of six months in a county jail and/or a fine of up to one-thousand dollars. A second offense will be treated as a Felony and could result in a State prison term. If you're convicted of Felony Indecent Exposure you must register as sex offenders for a minimum of ten years." Murphy's case for the May incident was dismissed. CARE court obviously did not work.
The only reason I have listed charges for the May 2025 case is because it includes two prior convictions from 2014 and 2023 for indecent exposure. Murphy was also convicted of indecent exposure in 2012. A search for Murphy's name comes up with 21 search results in Humboldt Superior Court.
