Convicted sex offender and sexual batterer Frank Alves was sentenced to 2 years probation today by Humboldt Superior Court Presiding Judge Kelly Neel. He was originally charged with forcible rape before he resolved his case.
I covered his plea in detail in the last post. Alves Next court date is a review hearing on 1/7/26 for sex offender evaluation.
Humboldt Deputy District Attorney Carolyn Schaffer is the prosecutor for this case. Mr. Gregory Kreis is Alves' attorney. Jane Doe is legally blind and Alves was her caregiver.
1/7/26: Status of sex offender evaluation continued by Kreis to 1/12/26. He asked it be scheduled before Judge Kelly Neel who took the plea and sentenced Alves.
1/12/26: DA filed stipulation and order for return of property. Still no court minutes on 1/13. Ms. Schaffer told me Alves is enrolled in sex offender treatment.
