At 10:35, I saw arson suspect Stephen Paiment in the hallway with his attorney, Humboldt County Deputy Public Defender Wade Orbelian. Obviously, his preliminary hearing today did not proceed and while I heard some things, I am only going to post what is in the court minutes. The preliminary hearing calendar starts at 10:15. He was very calm talking with Mr. Orbelian.
Paiment had his belongings with him. He looked at me, didn't say anything. As he got on the elevator, I heard him say to someone, "How is your day going?"
Preliminary hearing continued to 12/16 by defense due to outstanding discovery.
