7:45 p.m. EPD vehilcle pulls up and talks to one resident in trailer park on 3rd Street near Eureka Brake and Pacific Towing. Officer took notes. Then officer spoke with another resident right in front of the camper van in the trailer park where earlier there was an incident between a man picked up and was banging a rock and screaming at a woman in a U haul. She was causing a disturbance but violence isn't the answer. Then he walked away to the trailer park.
The red haired lady I mentioned in the post yesterday saw EPD and made a quick disappearance in one of three cars. All this activity since that dilapidated camper van and that red haired lady started hanging out in the area.
Third Street by the library used to be known for activity years ago. 2022 has a new location on Third Street.
EPD has been out a lot on Third Street since yesterday. EPD at the trailer park is not uncommon but then the police officer went over to Pacific Towing.
EPD should occasionally do a drive by at different times, especially in the middle of the night around hot spots. EPD should start with Old Town, 5th and 6th streets, 2nd and 3rd streets if they want to catch the chronic troublemakers in the act. Then they would have probable cause to search and investigate.
Eureka City Councilmembers and the County Supervisors in their ivory towers don't have to deal with showing up for work tired because crazies scream daily all night long or the Humboldt Jerry Springer show happens right outside your front door on a daily basis.
Who needs cable and reality shows? Just walk around different parts of Eureka and watch the walking dead, drug deals, sirens and fights. 127 years later, just like the first Eureka Town Marshall, EPD is still dealing with "rowdies" and drunks.
