Burglary suspect does not want a Public Defender and wants to be his own attorney

Burglary suspect Todd Cravens who was arrested for breaking into the Kaber Law offices does not want the Public Defender's office to represent him. Instead, he wants to be his own attorney. That issue was put over to the next hearing.

OR/bail was continued  to 7/27 and trails Craven's parole arraignment. Craven requested medical services and Judge Marilyn Miles ordered a medical and physical assessment.

Deputy District Attorney Emily Norgaard was present for the People at the June 22 hearing. Deputy Public Defender Wade Orbelian for the Public Defender's office.

7/27:  Cravens has parole hold, OR/ denied by Judge Christopher Wilson on 7/27 but maybe addressed again after preliminary hearing.

8/1: Defense motion to continue preliminary hearing granted. Defense needs to do further investigation. Marsden motion on 8/8. Preliminary hearing on 9/12.

8/8: Marsden motion continued to 8/18. Preliminary hearing scheduled for 9/12 advanced to 8/18. Dismissal denied.
