Alleged molestor's bail remains at $150,000 for now

 


Alleged molestor Eduardo Sanchez-Tapia was arrested yesterday on outstanding warrants in his 2022 case. He is charged with two counts of PC 288 (a) lewd act upon a child. Tapia was arraigned this afternoon. 

Deputy District Attorney Whitney Timm is the prosecutor for the case. Conflict Counsel's office was appointed to represent Sanchez-Tapia.

Tapia entered a 10 day time waiver. Deputy Conflict Counsel R.J. Leohner entered a 10 day time waiver and waived OR/bail without prejudice.

Judge Christopher Wilson left bail which  set at $150,000 but that is subject to change if prosecution or defense requests a change. Preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 23.

7/29: Substitution of attorney filed by Martin Michael Woods.

8/10: A hearing was calendared on this date for a motion to continue filed was filed by defense. It was granted. The 8/23 date for the preliminary hearing was vacated. New date is 10/3.  

10/3: Preliminary  was continued by the People to 11/1 because Ms. Timm is currently in trial. Defense motion to release defendant denied
