Eduardo Sanchez-Tapia was arrested for warrants in a 2022 Humboldt Superior Court case

The District Attorney's Office and all Humboldt law enforcement have their hands full with the frequent arrests of sexual abusers and molestors.

Eduardo Sanchez-Tapia was arrested for warrants issued in a 2022 Humboldt Superior Court case. In that case, he is charged with two counts of PC 288 (a) lewd act upon a child.




He also has one 2011 DV case which he filed and was dismissed due to lack of prosecution,one traffic infraction case from 2020 which was also dismissed for failure to prosecute and one family law case divorced case in which he was served with a restraining order.

Fortuna Police Department Press Release:

On Tuesday, July 12, 2022, the Fortuna Police Department received information from the Humboldt County District Attorneys’ office on 40-year-old, Eduardo Sanchez-Tapia. 

Sanchez-Tapia had an active and outstanding felony arrest warrant for two counts of Lewd and Lascivious Acts with a minor; under the age of 14 years old – California Penal Code § 288(a).

On Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at approximately 5 p.m., Fortuna Police located Eduardo Sanchez-Tapia in the 300 block of North Fortuna Boulevard. Sanchez-Tapia was immediately contacted and taken into custody without incident.

Sanchez-Tapia was transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where he was booked on his outstanding felony warrant.
