"Package recovered thanks to some sharp-eyed deputies! 👀👀
A night shift deputy saw this Ring video of a male subject stealing a package in the Eureka area pop up on his cell phone notifications. The video was brought up during the shift's nightly briefing. At about 3:40 a.m. today deputies returning from a call in the Ferndale area observed the vehicle in the video parked on the 200 block of Fernbridge Drive.
Deputies contacted the driver of the vehicle, 38-year-old James Sweeten. Sweeten was still wearing the same sweatshirt as in the video. Sweeten returned the stolen package to deputies, along with another package which had been stolen in the same neighborhood.
Sweeten was cited on misdemeanor theft charges and residents got their packages back!
