In camera hearing held today about former deputy Mike Hass' work on the Kailan Meserve case

Convicted Kailan Meserve is serving his sentence in state prison. I have been covering his writ of habeaus corpus when there is something of substance instead of just another status or review hearing. Meserve is challenging his detention.

At the last hearing, Humboldt Superior Court attorney Bryan Daley told Judge Wilson, "We are caught between Pitchess statutes and Bradley obligations."

At that hearing, Judge Christopher Wilson granted a motion to seal a record filed. He denied Kailan Meserve's attorney's request for oral depositions. At the last hearing, Judge Wilson mentioned a memo Sgt. Diana Freese had but doesnt now. It involves a citizen complaint and there will be an in camera hearing conducted about that memo.

Today, that in camera hearing was held in the Judge's chambers to determine if information regarding former HCSO Deputy Mike Haas' work on the Meserve case will be disclosed to the People and Meserve.

Different prosecutors, including District Attorney Maggie Fleming have appeared in court for the People.
