"You don't see the other dude" vs "But you see your dude with a knife in his hand sticking out of the bushes"

Jack Gillen's preliminary hearing was continued from yesterday to this morning so his attorney could view surveilance footage.

Gillen is charged with Count 1, PC 422 criminal threats and Count 2 PC 245 (a) (1).

I was waiting in the hallway on another case when I overheard Deputy Conflict Counsel Owen Tipps say, "You don't see the other dude."

"But you see your dude with a knife in his hand sticking out of the bushes," responded Deputy District Attorney Tobias Hasler.

Gillen resolved his case with a plea with an added Count 3, PC 245 (a) (4). Counts 1 and 2 were dismissed.
