Guy brings gun to Courthouse

This guy brought a weapon, a gun/revolver through Courthouse security. HCSO Deputy Franco took the gun and is checking on something. Deputy Bryan Franco had some kind of paperwork/id in his hand.

2:20: He just went through security again. Then into the Board of Supervisor Chambers. He was telling Deputy Franco he was here to give a presentation. That was for the Terra Gen project.

HCSO PIO Samantha Karges confirmed and gave me more information, "We did have an incident today involving a gun being located by Courthouse security during routine screening."

"At about 1:30 p.m. today (November 7, 2019) Michael Kenneth Koch, 53, from El Dorado Hills was attempting to enter the courthouse when security screeners located an unloaded firearm inside his bag. Court Security deputies responded to the screening station and took possession of the firearm. "

"Deputies learned that Koch is here on business from out of the area and had reportedly forgotten his firearm was still in his bag when he attempted to go through security. Koch was cooperative with deputies throughout the investigation."

"He was cited and released on a felony charge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Public Building (PC 171b(A)(1)).  At this time it appears this was an accident on the Koch’s part and there was no direct threat to the public or courthouse staff."
