Jury trial for alleged molestor Mario Alexander started December 17 with individual questioning of jurors and motions in limine.

The defense filed a motion to exclude CAST interviews of the two alleged victims.  Judge Christopher Wilson denied the defense motion this morning.

City of Napa and the County settle wrongful death lawsuit for $5 million


The city of Napa and Napa County settled a wrongful death lawsuit and pay $5 million to Jason Slusher, the father of Kayleigh Slusher, and and Kayleigh Slusher's grandparents, Robin and Benny Slusher.

Of course, James Pawlyk's sentencing did not happen, again


Sentencing was scheduled for James Pawlyk today. Of course  it didn't. Pawlyk entered an Arbuckle waiver today.

District Attorney Maggie Fleming explains why extraditing Reynaldo Valenzula is not feasible


District Attorney Maggie Fleming sent this response to my asking if her office planned on extraditing Reynaldo Mendoza Valenzuela.

"I do not have plans to extradite Valenzuela because his extradition from Mexico is not feasible.  Mexico only allows extradition under exceptional circumstances."

In November, Eric Francis Neal was transported to the state hospital. He is already back and booked into the local jail. He has an extensive, frequent Humboldt history and a Mendocino arrest.
