"Several deficiences"; "inadequate notice" and denial of Blaquelorde's emergency injunction

(old photo)

Thomas Blaquelorde is suing Sherlock Mini-storage and his case is specifically about the Eureka location. There was a hearing this afternoon on Blaquelorde's emergency injunction. He claims he is being denied access to his storage unit.

Judge Kelly Neel said there were "several deficiencies" in what Blaquelorde had filed. "Notice to the other party was inadequate. This is a common request for a temporary restraining order. The Court does not have sufficient information" and Blaquelorde's request was denied without prejudice.

Neither party stated their appearance prior to the proceeding. Judge Neel did make a comment about "inability to be present via technology." Not sure if that applied to one or both parties.

I did not watch anymore once Judge Neel denied the request. Humboldt Superior Court offers the option to appear via Zoom or phone for hearings. There are some exceptions in criminal proceedings and in civil cases but it depends on the Judge.

This is an old photo. People at the courthouse, in the legal community and many others are familiar with Blaquelorde.

If you are not familiar with Blaquelorde, please read the posts below for context.
