Defiant, unremorseful Mark Dare gets 46 years to life in prison to be served concurrently

Convicted molestor Mark Dare was  sentenced this morning to consecutive terms and the total prison sentence is 46 years to life. He has to register as a sex offender for life and will be on parole for life. Dare has 472 days of credits.

Defiant to the end, showing no remorse, Mark Dare communicated only with Judge Christopher Wilson through his attorney, Mr. Russ Clanton. Mr. Clanton was only appointed towards the end of the case and for a specific purpose. Mark Dare's trial and attorney from the beginning was former Public Defender Marek Reavis.

Mark Dare refused to participate in sentencing claiming he had no criminal liability and that he planned to appeal. Mark Dare said he was only in court because it was required. I didnt think it was possible for Mark Dare to sink any lower but he continues to be the whiny, narcissistic, slime characteristic of every child molestor.

Deputy District Attorney Carolyn Schaffer appeared on the case today.  Deputy DA Whitney Timm who is the prosecutor for this case was also present and she submitted a statement. Although Ms. Timm is currently out of the office on maternity leave, she was present in court today. Ms. Schaffer made her first appearance on this case at the last hearing when the motion for new trial was denied.

The victims were accompanied by their father Dennis Winder. His name was stated in open court and during the trial. The girls do not have their biological fathers' last name.

DA investigator Steve Dunn, Victim Witness Advocate Caitlyn Lahaie and eight members from Bikers against Child Abuse were present in court. BACA members have been there to support the victims during the trial.

Dare got a break on some court fines. One mandated restitution finewas reduced. There were two requests from Jane Doe #2 and Winder. Both did not even ask for all the expenses incurred and both requests were granted. More details in update.

I am working on other news and no one else has covered this case. Exclusive information from court today and the victims' statements about Mark  Dare and his church members behavior during trial and after his conviction will not be in a press release. I have been at every single hearing and came to the courthouse today just for this sentencing.

If a press release is issued before I finish updating this post, I know my regular readers and jurors will check back later for the complete details.

Judge Wilson's remarks about this  jury were spot on. They were excellent jurors and Ms. Timm did an outstanding job with the trial. Keywords of Judge Wilson's statement: 12 impartial jurors who listened to all the evidence and were convinced beyond a reasonable doubt. Judge Wilson did not mince words and shut down Dare's denial.

The strength of these two young women throughout the case but especially today exemplifies what it means to be a survivor. They were articulate. While their remarks were brief; they were powerful.

Dare, the church and money failed. Justice was delivered.

Mark Dare, Windy Dare and the fake Christians, all in denial, wrote letters asking for leniency and did eveything to avert justice and they failed.

Jane Doe's remark about Mark Dare's church cover being blown; her reference about Mark Dare's family and friends testifying and supporting Mark Dare even after knowing about the child porn on Mark Dare's computer says it all about what this particular Seventh Day Adventist Church and their unChristian values. The child porn and a lot more  came out during trial.

I am the only one who covered this case from the beginning, in detail, including the jury trial. If you did not follow the case, read those posts to fully understand what this sentencing means to the victims who are Dare's stepdaughters.

Their own mother, Windy Dare testified for Mark Dare during the trial and has chose to stand by her man over daughters and today was no exception. I don't think a disgusting, worthless pedophile was what Tammy Wynette had in mind.
