On October 8, 2021, at about 8:12 p.m., officers with the Eureka Police Department responded to the 3300 Block of Broadway for the report of a pedestrian collision involving multiple vehicles.
The pedestrian suffered critical injuries as a result of the collision. Humboldt Bay Fire and City Ambulance responded and provided emergency medical care and transportation to the hospital. At this time, the male pedestrian remains in critical condition and has not yet been identified.
The pedestrian appears to be a white male possibly in his 30’s, reddish brown facial hair, and no obvious tattoos. Based on the preliminary investigation, it appears the pedestrian was struck by three separate vehicles, one that was traveling northbound and two that were traveling southbound. All three drivers remained at the scene and were evaluated for DUI.
Impairment does not appear to be a factor. This is an active and ongoing investigation. Any witnesses to the collision or anyone with information on the possible identity of the pedestrian is asked to contact the Eureka Police Department at (707) 441-4060.
