Albert Kress resolves his case for a 12 year prison sentence and lesser charge

Albert Kress resolved his homicide case with a plea today for lesser included charge of voluntary manslaughter for 11 years and one year for special enhancement for use of a knife.

He also admitted his felony probation. Deputy District Attorney Trent Timm dismissed the third misdemeanor case.

Kress ended up waiving 643 custody credits. This means he also gave up the chance to earn more credits which would have reduced his prison time.

Deputy District Attorney discussed the pros and cons of taking this to trial with Ray Prudhomme's family and they made the decision regarding a plea deal together.

Sentencing is on November 18.

Court minutes from sentencing on two cases.
