"Lost Coast Bandit" charged with burglary, robbery and Fentanyl possession

David Lee Moon aka "Lost Coast Bandit" was scheduled to be arraigned this afternoon. Two family members were already outside the courtroom by 1:10. A Ramey warrant was filed for this recent arrest on September 12.

Moon has 26 cases in the system, including this recent arrest. Unfortunately, arraignment did not proceed today. It was continued to October 13 because Moon had a medical emergency while he was on his way to the courtroom.

Moon also had another case filed on September 10 with an arraignment date of 9/27 which was suppised to be arraigned on and was continued to October 13. Moon failed to appear on arraignment on September 27 in this case and a bench warrant was issued for $65,000. Possession of meth is one of the charges in this earlier 2021 case.

10/13: Conflict Counsel was appointed for Moon. A supervised release referral was made at defense's request. OR/bail is scheduled for October 15.

Judge Christopher Wilson said he did not have the facts before him today but given the number of robberies and charges, this would qualify for a no bail hold. Bail remains set for now. At booking, Moon's bail is $460,000.

Time was not waived. Preliminary hearing is on Oct 25. Defense was given 195 pages of discovery in one case.

10/15: At OR/bail hearing, Moon was denied OR/ supervised release. Bail reduced to$425,000.

10/25: Preliminary continued by defense to 1/27/22 due to discovery for both cases. Time estimate 6 to 8 hours.
