Yesterday morning, when I checked Michael Acosta had not filed his motion to continue. Acosta did file another motion to withdrew as attorney and a declaration yesterday. That motion was granted.
His and Sarah Carroll's case are on the trial assignment calendar this morning, which takes forever.
Acosta was representing himself. He withdrew and asked for a court appointed attorney will be appointed for him. There will be conflicts for most attorneys, whether Public Defenders or private attorneys because of the various people involved in the case and because Acosta is a local attorney.
Trial setting, appointment of counsel is a special set on October 29.
Ms Andrea Sullivan, a private attorney was appointed to represent Carroll.
Deputy District Attorney Jane Mackie is the prosecutor for the case.
