Trial confirmation was scheduled for Samantha Luna this morning. Jury trial is scheduled for October 26 was vacated. A plea deal is in the works.
Trial confirmation was reset for April 5, 2022; jury trial for April 18, 2022. Defense requested continuance due to Luna's attorney being unavailable.
A plea would mean the public will never see the video of the incident.
Luna who was defiant and unremorseful will not change and spin this plea into more attention and a win.
Disrespecting police, being drunk with a minor in your car is okay is the message that the DA's office is sending the community.
A deferred entry of judgement for at least one charge is part of the resolution. Luna was originally arraigned on seven charges.
Luna's attorney is Mr. William Panzer. Deputy District Attorney Jessica Acosta is the prosecutor.
