Kidnap and mayhem suspect Cory Nelson's sentencing took place this morning. He resolved four of his cases with a stipulated plea deal for a 14 year prison sentence.
The plea deal was for 14 year total prison sentence in the mayhem case. 8 year term to run concurrent in the kidnap case. Rest of the charges in those two cases as well as two other cases dismissed with a Harvey reservation.
Deputy District Attorney Trent Timm is the prosecutor. Mr. Timm is out of the office until next week. Deputy DA Steven Steward appeared on the case for the People. Mr. Russ Clanton is Nelson's attorney.
