Rigor mortis had not seen when Deputy Coroner Jamie Barney inspected Tim Smith's body

Deputy Coroner Jamie Barney was the last witness for the People this afternoon. He will resume testimony tomorrow morning.

When he first saw Tim Smith's body, he saw blood stains on his blue shirt. "Round hole in the center." He lifted the shirt to observe an entrance wound "almost center of the chest." There were five additional bullet holes in Smith's back.

Rigor mortis had not set in. There were pools of blood found near Smith's head and chest.

One vial of Smith's blood was sent to Central Toxicology for a report. Xrays of Smith's body taken at Mad River Hospital showed five bullets inside the body. They were taken out by Dr. Mark Super during the autopsy.

Judge told the jury that autopsy photos will not be shown today.  Deputy Barney did ID other photos at the crime scene.

This afternoon, in court, Deputy District Attorney mentioned to Smith's family that he would be showing photos as a part of Barney's testimony, in case they wished to leave the courtroom.
