Three candidates for Humboldt County Superior Court Judge to speak at Red Lion tomorrow

THREE CANDIDATES FOR HUMBOLDT COUNTY
SUPERIOR COURT JUDGE
WILL SPEAK AT LUNCH AT THE RED LION
THURSDAY, MARCH 15, 2018 AT 12:00 PM

The program is getting to know your judicial candidates.  Rarely do we have the opportunity to elect judges and this election affords the community a glimpse into the candidates and the office.
HRWF will host three judicial candidates in what is probably the candidates first official public appearance in their campaigns.
Come learn about their background, judicial responsibilities and philosophy.

THE CANDIDATES ARE:
A.    Superior Court Judge Department A candidates, Judge Reinholsen’s court:
1.     Lawrence Killoran
2.     Lathe Gill
B.     Superior Court Judge, Department B, Judge Gregory John Elvine-Kreis’s court:
1.     Gregory Elvine-Kreis
2.     We do not yet know if he has an opponent – Karen will check at the elections office and let us know.

Karen Brooks, 2nd Vice President in charge of legislation, has arranged the program.  All three candidates will answer the same questions:
1.     What are the responsibilities and the challenges of the office you are seeking?
2.     What is your judicial philosophy?  Do you believe the Constitution and Rule of Law are open to your interpretation?
3.     Lookng at recent headlines:  What is a judge’s scope of authority to keep our community safe when illegal aliens who are charged with a felony, such as a homicide, are released?
