Defense in John Beideman case is asking the Court to dismiss 7 out of 8 counts

On April 4, a hearing on the defense request to dismiss charges is scheduled in the John Beideman sexual molestation case.

The defense is requesting all charges except Count 2 be dismissed.

The People have not filed their opposition to the 995 motion, yet (as of 10 a.m. today).

The defense is asking the "Court to dismiss Counts One, Two, Four and Five for insufficient evidence; Count 6 as duplicative of Count 5; and Counts Seven and Eight as time barred."

As reported in the previous post linked below, the defense filed the 995 motion on March 21. Then an amended motion on March 22.

Some of the cases the defense refers to in the amended 995 motion.

Deputy District Attorney Stacey Eads is prosecuting the case. Mr. Russ Clanton is representing Beideman.
