Is Hugo Parral-Aguirre competent to stand trial or not?

Mexican citizen Hugo Parral-Aguirre was found competent after a second evaluation by Dr. Ramirez.

Intervention is on April 23. Preliminary is scheduled for April 25.

Status of Dr. Ramirez's second report and whether Aguirre's medical and psychiatric records will be released was scheduled for this morning.

Aguirre's last court hearing for March 19 was continued to this morning at 10:15.

The same issue has been heard once by Judge Christopher Wilson, once by Judge Gregory Elvine-Kreis and today, again by Judge Wilson.

This issue has been discussed extensively at the last two hearings. No other media was present at those hearings.

The defense had declared doubt regarding Aguirre's competency. At the March 12 hearing, the defense said they no longer believe have doubt regarding Aguirre's competency.

I covered both the March 12 and March 19 hearing in detail. No other media was present. Please read links below for background.

Deputy District Attorney Josh Rosenfeld is prosecuting the case. This morning, Deputy DA A.J. Kamada was in court for Mr. Rosenfeld.

Conflict Counsel Supervising Attorney Meagan O'Connell is representing Aguirre.

Aguirre is charged with attempted murder of Deputy Rosalie Freixas; attempted murder of Carol Fuentes;  false imprisonment of Courtney Schlapicohl and assault with a firearm on Sgt. Greg Musson.
