Judge Graham Cribbs was ready to give jury instructions before attorneys presented closing arguments in the Jon Goldberg trial.
Judge Cribbs told a packed courtroom that a text was received that Juror #7 was ill.
After discussions with the attorneys and Goldberg, "it was an unanimous decision" that the original jury that heard this case, and juror#7 be given "at least 24 hours to recoup and be here tomorrow."
Judge Cribbs mentioned that this is the 6th week of the trial referring to time invested in by the jury. Opening statements and evidence in the trial started on February 27.
"We are entering into our sixth week and we felt it was prudent to have that juror available if at all possible."
Closing arguments are expected to continue tomorrow at 9:30 a.m.
Closing arguments are not evidence. There has been extensive daily coverage of this jury trial. Jurors will deliberate on testimony and evidence presented in this case.
