995 motion to dismiss charges filed in court clerk John Beideman's case


A 995 motion to set aside charges filed in the John Beideman sexual abuse trial is set for April 4 at 8:30 in Courtroom 2. It was filed on March 21.



Court clerk John Beideman is charged with 8 counts.

The alleged victim, Jane Doe, was Beideman's step daughter at the time of the alleged sexual abuse. 

He was held to answer to six counts after his preliminary hearing. For the jury trial, two additional counts of oral copulation/sexual penetration of a child under 10 were added.

Deputy District Attorney Stacey Eads is prosecuting the case. Mr. Russ Clanton represents Beideman. 

Trial confirmation is scheduled for April 5. Jury trial for April 23.

  1. Is this just a routine motion or was there evidence offered to support the 995?

    1. Maude, 995 motions are not routine. The defense has just filed the motion. The DA will file a response. Whether there is evidence to grant it or not is something the Judge will decide after hearing from both sides.
