A hearing to receive a CONREP recommendation for Ewa Misztal was continued to this morning.
It was continued to April 3 after Deputy Public Defender Casey Russo brought up some cases and his interpretation of statute 1026.
Whether Ewa Misztal is still a danger to the public, whether she was temporarily insane at the time of the crime or whether she should be committed to a State hospital for life are all options Judge Dale Reinholtsen will consider.
Judge Reinholtsen and Deputy District Attorney Carolyn Schaffer needed time to review the cases cited by Mr. Russo.
Deputy District Attorney Carolyn Schaffer is prosecuting this case. Deputy Public Defender Casey Russo is representing Misztal.
